Prayer for Our Kentucky Families

Prayer Partners,

This is a critical time in the life of many of our team members. Before we left Kentucky we had six houses to sell (Browning, Jernigan, Mills, Pruitt, Cinnamon, and Mattingly). As of today, four houses have sold but two house remain to be sold (Mill & Mattingly).

I ask that you pray diligently for these families. John Mills and Chris Mattingly are both about to leave to come to Summerville to start their new jobs. These families are trusting God to sell their houses so that they can get settled into their new life here.

Please spend some time this week praying for their houses to sell.

Sorry for the Delay

Everyone,

I must apologize for my recent lack of writing. Over the last few weeks we have been working to get our new church website up (which should have it own prayer blog). We have been pouring effort there and it has caused me to focus my technological attention in another direction.

Things at the church have gone really well! The group is growing very quickly but I feel at a health rate. We have seen a few new people get involved on Sunday night and we are making real strides with many of our relationships in the community that we hope will be fruitful. Our group has grown so much that we are now preparing to move from my house to new location (College Park Raod Baptist Church's Fellowship Hall).

Our Kentucky crowd is making their way down. Katherine will get here first soon followed by the Cinnamon's and Ves. Please pray for the Mill's and Mattingly's house to sell. Also pray that each of these families will identify the correct strategic place for them to live. Please pray that God will provide the finances for some upcoming events and projects that we will need to invest in.

Will in Sumter, SC

Well, I am not sure how many people will get this in time but tomorrow morning I (Will) will be preaching at Westside Baptist Church in Sumter, SC. I guess the purpose behing this entry, like all others, is to get a few prayer warriors to lift me up for a big day tomorrow. I just spent a few minutes prayer walking around the church. I usually do this inside the church the day before preaching but I had no way to enter the church.

My friend, Mark, is the pastor of the church and he has been a big supporter of our church plant. He thought it might be good for me to preach at his church sometime and this looks like the weekend.

God is doing great things here in Summerville. Every week is a little different. Some weeks are like whirlwinds and others are slow and it seems like we did not accomplish much for the kingdom.

Please keep praying for us.

Trip to Columbia

Everyone,

Last night we took a van load (Thank the Good Lord) to Columbia to a Easter service with Midtown Fellowship. We took three other young adults with us to try to cast vision and get ideas on how we will do our weekly gathering time. The service was great, it was rocking and there were hundreds of young adults worshiping Christ.

The trip had two purposes. #1 - via intivation by the Pastor we were asked to evaluate the Church's strengths and weaknesses. #2 - to take a few potiential core team members with us to show them what we are thinking. Both of these were successes. We are following up with both of these goals.

Keep praying that God will open up doors to potiential core team members who have the same vision to reach this generation for Christ.

God's Blessing

Everyone,

Well, I am a testimony that God will provide for your needs. Some of you may know that Tarah and I have two very used cars. One of the cars (Will's Truck) is getting very old, nearing 200,000 miles. We have been forced to use the Blazer to transport all three kids and the fit has been very tight. What has made this even more complicated was the fact that Tarah was asked by the Jernigans to keep Eliana when Erin was working. We were not sure how this was going to work because neither of our cars could fit another child.

Here is where the story gets cool. I received a phone call last week that someone wanted to give us a 2005 Ford Van! Yes, I mean give it to us. This is huge; it is allow both the Brownings and the Jernigans to pursue all our goals.

One Correction - Clay is Helping Coach T-Ball Also

Everyone,

Well, one correction is needed. Clay is also helping coach Ethan's T-ball team. This is big because I have never coached anything before and Clay has actually made money coaching (I think!). We are very excited and the season starts next week. Pray that God will help us connect with new people as we minister to these new families.

This weekend was great. Clay and I led a small group of college students in a survey of Summerville. We were able to answer some big questions that will help us know how to proceed with some upcoming decisions. We also met together on Sunday night and Leslie was with us! She added a very important opinion to our study because Leslie represents our target audience. She is a young professional in her 20's and she was a breath of fresh air to our group.

We had several of our team out this week because of spring break and traveling. Randy Justice was with us but Tammy and the kids were visiting family and the same was true for the Browning Family (excluding Will). Next week, we are going to be traveling to Columbia to interact with the leaders of Midtown Fellowship. So we won't be meeting together next Sunday night.

Weekly Update

Hopefully, for many of you, this week in your mailbox you will receive our quarterly newsletter. I mailed it out on Wednesday so it should be in your box by the end of this week or the beginning of next week. We have been blessed by some many supporters who are sacrificially giving to our church and we appreciate it in a big way.

Thank you to our prayer partners for lifting us up to the Lord each week (maybe even each day). My job search has finally come to an end. I will pride myself on being a true Southern Baptist through-and-through for I am currently working for the North America Mission Board as a Nehemiah Church Planter and I will now be working for Lifeway Christian Stores as a Receiver (for all you football player, I will not be catching balls). I will start next week.

Please pray that our God sends us people who will commit to being a part of our core team. We have several prospects but it will be up to the Lord to move in their hearts to become a part of our team. Pray that God will protect us from people that may cause dissention and that God will provide people who have a heart to serve and reach the lost.

Giving into peer preasure - Update on the Kids

So a few people have asked that I update everyone on how the Browning kids are doing. I guess I will give into the peer pressure a little. Piper and Ethan have started their new schools and are really doing GREAT! I mean this with all sincerity (not just fatherly pride). We expected these months to be some of the hardest since this would be the third move for our kids in four months but they have made the adjustment in stride.

Piper is excelling in school. Tarah met with her teachers yesterday and they thought she was doing very well. She has caught up with most of her classmates. We had been worrying about how Piper was doing with attachment issues but over the last two weeks things have improved drastically. She is now desiring to sit on daddy's lap and tells her mother that she loves her. These are big steps for Piper because she was very protective of her affection over the last three months.

Ethan is going to start T-Ball in April. He has his dad as the coach. I am not sure if athletic ability is going to be his forte but we will have some good times together, I'm sure. Ethan is going to Pre-K and it has helped him socially more than anything. He has met a friend who he plays with everyday. His friend is going to be on our T-ball team which he is excited about.

Jedidiah is just huge. He is in the 95 percentile of size for his age. He is now nine months old and crawling and pulling up. It could be walking soon considering his current mobility. His little personality is coming out and he likes to be the center of attention. Fortunately, he is pretty laid back.

I will post a few pictures so you all can see the kids. Please pass on to everyone to check out our site to help remind them of our prayer needs.

Weekend Update

Everyone,

Well, we met together last night at the Browning's house. Unfortunately, Judy was sick with an ear infection but the entire Justice Family made it this time. We spent most of our time praying together and planning for an upcoming block party. It was a productive meeting. We are studying through some of the "Lost Passages" in Luke 15. Many of you know that I love this chapter. We will probably do that once again next week.

The job search for Will is going well. I hope to hear something today from Lifeway. I contacted the manager on Saturday but she had not received the answer that we are waiting on. Please keep praying for that but also for the other families that are searching for jobs and trying to sell their houses.

Katherine Williams and her family were in town this weekend and God, as usual, has opened some really cool doors. Tarah and I will be meeting with a college student tonight who we hope could be a potential core team member and maybe even a roommate for Katherine.
